Hello !

I'm David, an Android developer from France.
I would like to present you my latest application : Wake me up!

Wake me up! is an alarm application with advanced features.
It is constantly improved and I try to be as responsive as possible.
Every feedback is welcomed and read. I try to answer to as many as I can
In fact, multiple added features came from ideas of persons who tried the application.

It is from the start made with Material design in mind.

It is compatible with Android 4.3+ and fully compliant with Android 6 Marshmallow, 7 Nougat and Doze mode.

Added the possibility to snooze an alarm by passing three times a hand very close to the proximity sensor. Needs to be enabled in the settings.
A warning icon is now displayed next to an override if it is set on a day when the alarm will be disabled.

Temperatures chart! There is a new temperatures chart available. It displays the evolution of the temperature starting three hours before the ringing time of an alarm, up to two days after.
It's available for each alarm that has weather forecast enabled and that will ring in less than 48 hours. (Premium)
Block snoozing. You can remove the "snooze" possibility for your alarm. Doing so, it will only be possible to dismiss it, and it won't be automatically snoozed.
New Tasker plugin: snooze or dismiss your alarm when an event occurs.
New option to automatically delete non repeating alarms that will have no other occurrence, instead of disabling them.
Added a new TTS option: say the name of the day, and say the date including the name of the day.

An alarm can be set to ring each week, every two weeks, and so on (up to every 16 weeks) (PREMIUM).

Thanks to feedback from the small Google+ community, Wake me up! is now recognized by Tasker as an event plugin!
Using this plugin, you can launch tasks when an alarm is snoozed or dismissed.

Wake me up! 2.1.3 as been uploaded on the PlayStore, containing bugfixes.

This alarm has great potentials. Thank you for sharing it with XDA. I have several some comments and suggestions:

1) Does it support Android 6.0.x Doze Mode? Many are reporting that alarms other than stock are not reliability working because they are not optimized for Marshmallow. So far, only one app in the Playstore claims to be optimized for MM.
2) I have been searching for an alarm replacement for my current Alarm Clock Plus. The killer feature are: Auto Snooze and TTS current time.

The way I have my alarms set up: a) Alarm goes off, TTS current time, alarm tone plays for 20 seconds with escalating sound, b) alarm automatically snoozes for 10 minutes with no input from me, c) after 10 minutes alarm goes off again, TTS current time, tone plays for 20 seconds and auto snoozes with no input from me, d) after 4 cycles, alarm will continue to play until input from me. All times are settable.

Also, a nap mode allowing for a quick input of timed alarm is cool too...

If your alarm can add the weather TTS, so the alarm can read something like, "Good [morning/afternoon/evening], the time is [time], today's forecast is [weather], alarm tone plays [settable seconds], auto snooze, repeat after snooze period, that would make me switch immediately.

I'm very sorry for not seeing your post until now. I was deep into programming and testing the 2.5 version and I missed it. Again sorry about this!
I will try to answer your questions:

1. Yes, it supports Doze and uses the AlarmManager new APIs. It works with Android 6 and the alarm goes off on time. The different feedback I receive tells be that it works well.

2. As of now, there is no greeting message. But, that's quite funny. I am currently working on it. I though that would be a cool feature to have for the next version. So, it will be here.
TTS weather forecast is here but needs the premium pack (which is less than 1$ excluding taxes). But, it plays after the user has snoozed or dismissed the alarm. Nevertheless, the alarm tone plays during a time you can set. You can set the time the alarm will take to go full volume, and the length after which the alarm will be "missed". Missed alarms can be automatically snoozed. You can set a snooze period for each alarm. And this period can decrease every time the alarm is snoozed.
Let's say that you set it to 10 minutes. If yor alarm is missed, it will ring again after 10 mintues. But, the next snooze period would be 8 minutes, then 6 minutes (or whatever snooze decrease you like). Then it will ring each minute.
All times are settable.

You can also quickly input a quick alarm using Google Voice. But, you can also create a new alarm, select a time to go off, and it will ring at this time (either the same day or the day after).

To answer briefly your last question, it would more be like:
- alarm tone plays [settable seconds], auto snooze, repeat after snooze period (as many as necessary)
- manually snooze or dismiss => Good [morning/afternoon/evening], the time is [time], today's forecast for [location] is [weather]

Hi again. Your product has great potential and it's good to see that you're continuing to work on it. I've been playing with it for bit. I'll once again petition for some wanted features so that I can replace Alarm Clock Plus.

1) Please allow the alarm to speak Good [morning/afternoon/evening], the time is [time], [date], (optionally) today's forecast for [location] is [weather],

and play the selected alarm tone automatically each time. I would like to hear this information without having to manually snooze or dismiss the alarm. This way, as I am laying and agonizing in bed with the prospect of having to get up, I know the time without having to open my eyes or do anything. And, as the alarm automatically snoozes and repeats, I know the current time. This way, I know how late it's getting and determine that I must get up!

2) Please allow the alarm duration setting to be freely adjusted. The current shortest time is 1 minute (under Settings > Volume > Silence after). I would like to be able to have the alarm silenced after 10 or so seconds. It would be nice to be able to set the Silence after time to whatever I want.

3) Add number of times alarm will auto snooze, after which it will play for an extended period, but stops repeating (To address scenarios: 1--if I fell asleep, after numbers of snooze repeats, the alarm will keep playing for a longer period to force me to wake up, 2-- if I left the phone with an alarm set, but left the phone somewhere, I wouldn't want the alarm to keep playing all day).

So the way it would work: [Alarm goes of the first time, reads time, date, etc., plays tone for 10 seconds, auto snoozes for set period], [alarm goes off after snooze period, reads data,

current time, plays tone for 10 secs., auto snoozes], [repeats for number of times I set and auto quits]

4) Add the ability to "Skip next alarm". This is useful for holidays. This way, I can skip the next alarm without having to remember to disable and reenable the alarm.

On the "nap" feature, it's just a shortcut to set an alarm for "x minutes/hours from now". Say I want to take a nap for 30 minutes, I add an alarm for 30 minutes rather than having to figure out what time that would be.

Questions:

1) Under individual alarm settings > Alarm Type > Volume > Progressive ringtone -- what is the Length setting?
How is this different from general settings > Volume > Duration for gradually increasing volume?

2) Alarm icon on the notification bar necessary when an alarm is enabled? If not, I would like to be able to disable the icon on the notification bar. Space is precious.

I would like to hear this information without having to manually snooze or dismiss the alarm. This way, as I am laying and agonizing in bed with the prospect of having to get up, I know the time without having to open my eyes or do anything. And, as the alarm automatically snoozes and repeats, I know the current time. This way, I know how late it's getting and determine that I must get up!

To make sure how you want it done. Are you thinking of :
- "text-to-speech then ringtone" repeating to "text-to-speech then ringtone"
- or "text-to-speech" then "repeating ringtone"

2) Please allow the alarm duration setting to be freely adjusted. The current shortest time is 1 minute (under Settings > Volume > Silence after). I would like to be able to have the alarm silenced after 10 or so seconds. It would be nice to be able to set the Silence after time to whatever I want.

This will be in the next "feature" version. I may have more bugfix versions before releasing new features. It will be possible to set for each alarm its length. I see it as a dialog providing something like [number between 5 and 60] [unit seconds/minutes].

I will add it for a next "feature" version. It will be possible to set the number of time an alarm will autosnooze and the alarm length for its last autorepeat.

On the "nap" feature, it's just a shortcut to set an alarm for "x minutes/hours from now". Say I want to take a nap for 30 minutes, I add an alarm for 30 minutes rather than having to figure out what time that would be.

I just added it on the todolist. I cannot give you an estimate for about when it will be available, but it will definitely be.

It depends on which one you're talking about.
If it is the one related to the notification displaying the next alarm, yes it can be disabled.
If it is the one on the right, next to the clock, it is a bit more difficult. I already made a bit of research, andto be quite frank, the code is there. But I am unable to find a way to remove it for Lollilop and higher. Until I find a way, I won't make this available.

The cost of the premium is more than worth it. I would be glad to donate $20 or more if these features can be implemented. Thanks for your consideration.

To make sure how you want it done. Are you thinking of :
- "text-to-speech then ringtone" repeating to "text-to-speech then ringtone"
- or "text-to-speech" then "repeating ringtone"

I'm not sure what you're asking, but I'll do my best to describe what I want:
Settings under "Alarm Type"
Length: 11 seconds
Snooze parameters: 8 min
TTS: Greet me, Say the date, Say the time enabled

Desired behavior at alarm time based on above settings:
[TTS greet, date, time], [play alarm tone for 11 seconds], [auto snooze for 8 minutes], [TTS greet, date, time], [play alarm tone for 11 seconds], [auto snooze for 8 minutes], [TTS greet, date, time], [play alarm tone for 11 seconds], [auto snooze for 8 minutes], alarm cycle repeats until number of time specified (feature to be released in future version).

The reason that TTS must repeat each time after the snooze period is so that I know the current time as I am laying in bed with my eyes closed. Does this answer your question? The idea is that I don't have to interact with the phone for the above the cycle.

This will be in the next "feature" version. I may have more bugfix versions before releasing new features. It will be possible to set for each alarm its length. I see it as a dialog providing something like [number between 5 and 60] [unit seconds/minutes].

Great! I want to be able to set the alarm tone duration for whatever time I want. A minimum of 5 seconds would work. Just be sure to allow free entry (as opposed to a pick list like it is now), so that it can be 6 or 13 seconds or whatever I want. Keep in mind that the TTS announcement should be excluded from this time setting.

So it would be Good [time of day], today is [date], the time is [time], play alarm tone for the period of time specified.

It is an useful option to be able to stop the alarm for a certain number of days. The only drawback is that it requires many actions/taps to get it setup. The idea is to have a function that is quick to activate with very few taps. If I can long-press on an alarm, get a context menu, tap "Skip Next", it would improve the user experience. It's one of the most used functions for me. Just food for thought.

I see. I recall with my testing (I could be wrong) that the alarm was following the default setting and not the alarm-specific setting. In other words, the shortest I can set in the default setting is 1 minute. I set the one specific to the alarm to 10 seconds. The alarm still plays for 1 minute. The one specific to the alarm doesn't seem to work.

Under Settings > Notifications, I have all the notifications disabled. When I enable an alarm, an alarm icon appears to the left of the LTE symbol. I was curious if that can be removed.
